It’s all in your head… but it’s the way you think about things that really matters.
I was chatting with a client and they were feeling down because due to birthdays and staycations, they felt they hadn’t made much progress that month so we looked at their stats and photos (which really are key because we all know the scales aren’t the full picture) and they were right, things had stayed pretty much the same, a few pounds down, a few pounds but but mostly steady for the month…
Is that a lack of progress? Well… it depends on how you look at it…
Wait… Did they work on their weight loss goal? No…BUT
So did they practice maintaining the results they had so far while having a month of going out and enjoying family events? HELL YES! How? Through practising the good habits they’d been working on when they could and making better choices *most* of the time.
It’s not all about speeding towards your goals as fast as you can. It’s about balancing goals and life and accepting that some months are for pushing and some months are for letting the dust settle.
There is never a perfect time to start, there will always be birthdays and events, Christmas being one of them. But imagine this… If you start now, and you make some changes at the toughest time of the year… imagine how good you’ll be feeling come January… Christmas and New year are just a few days, even throw in a few Christmas parties, it’s still leaves a lot of days in December to focus on you and the changes you want to make…
