Trust me, the scales are lying to you
WHAT?! Yeah… Trust me, the scales are lying to you
Firstly, let’s take a moment to give a big high five to Stacey who’s in the featured photo (you can read her full testimonial here) and if I tell you it’s titled “The best thing was that I could still eat all the things I liked 🧁 and have a few bottles of fizz too 😊🍾” are you interested now?
✨ Find out more about working with me here ✨
I worked with Stacey from January to March this year. We had two lockdowns in that time and everything felt like it was changing on a daily basis. Stacey signed up with a goal of dropping weight on the scales but what happened were the scales were stubborn but why that doesn’t matter! Look at the photo… who cares what the scales say!
Trust me, the scales are lying to you, they’re impacted by all of these things for a start:
💩 When did you last go to the toilet
🥯 Was last night’s meal high in carbs (because this makes you body hold water)
💦 How hydrated are you?
🍷 Did you drink wine last night?
⏰ What time of day is it?
🩸 Time of the month/hormones
😴 How well you slept… the list goes on
All of these will impact your scale weight. And if that impacts your mindset, you’re on a one way ticket to crash and burn
(Psst! Need help with mindset, check out The Commitment Project)
So what can you do?
📸 Take photos!
You don’t have to show anyone
You can use the timer function on your phone
Prop your phone up in an empty mug to prevent any dropped phones
Repeat weekly or monthly and always wear the same outfit for maximum comparison.
So here’s my challenge to you, today… DITCH THE SCALES! They’re not your friend. Unless you can weigh yourself daily without it impacting your mood or food choices, to allow you to learn the natural fluctuations of your body, you don’t need them.
✨ Set a GOAL FEELING… not a goal weight ✨
I’d love to hear your thoughts on your relationship with the scales, drop me a message and let me know your thoughts.
