You don’t need another diet.

You need to know why the habits that should be working, aren’t.

Private 1:1 nutrition coaching for women in their 40s who already eat pretty well, train regularly and know more about nutrition than the average person, but still aren’t seeing the changes they expected in their body.

Surely this should be working?

You’re not looking to lose five stone.

Maybe it’s 7lb. Maybe it’s less than that. Which, frankly, almost makes it more annoying.

You train three or four times a week. You walk. You prioritise protein. You don’t live on takeaways. You know what a calorie is. You’re not spending every evening face-first in a family-size bag of Doritos.

And yet your jeans still don’t sit how you want them to. Your body shape feels different. The holiday photos don’t quite match the version of yourself you feel like in your head.

Has midlife changed the rules?

Maybe you need to eat less. Fast longer. Cut carbs. Stop drinking. Take creatine. Take more creatine. Balance your hormones. Lower your cortisol. Eat within 30 minutes of waking. Absolutely do NOT eat within 30 minutes of waking.

Welcome to being a woman on the internet in your 40s. It is exhausting.

I don’t think you need more information. I think you need someone to look at you.

Your food. Your weekends. Your training. Your appetite. Your routine. Your social life. Your expectations.

And work out what is standing between the effort you’re already making and the result you thought that effort would produce.

You are not starting from zero.

A lot of nutrition advice is written for somebody who needs to start eating vegetables, stop drinking two bottles of wine a night and move their body occasionally. That isn’t you.

Which is exactly why being told to “eat more protein”, “get your steps in” or “focus on consistency” makes you want to launch your phone across the room. You are already doing those things.

Your habits can be good and still not be calibrated to the result you want.

That’s the gap we find.

What we actually do together

You can Google how much protein to eat. You can download a meal plan. You can ask ChatGPT for a 1,600-calorie menu before your kettle has boiled.

What more information can’t give you is someone looking at the whole picture and saying:

This is the bit that matters.
This is the bit you can stop worrying about.
This is what I think is happening.
And this is what we’re going to test next.

I bring the nutrition science, the pattern recognition, ten years of coaching and an annoyingly good ability to spot the thing you’ve been overlooking. You bring your life.

We look at what you’re doing now. We find the gap between your habits and your goal. We choose the smallest useful changes. Then we use your real-world results to decide what happens next.

Sometimes that means adjusting calories. Sometimes it’s meal structure, weekends, hunger, or an expectation that was never realistic in the first place. Sometimes you need more structure. Sometimes you need less. We don’t decide the answer before we’ve looked at the evidence.

I don’t coach women over 40. I coach the woman in front of me.

Built for the life you actually want to live

I don’t want to hand you rules that work beautifully until somebody invites you out for dinner. I don’t want you weighing lettuce forever. And I definitely don’t want your whole life organised around losing a few pounds.

Restaurants. Weekends away. Pizza. Birthdays. Holidays. And yes, if you want it, Prosecco.

Wanting to feel better in your jeans shouldn’t cost you a life where you’re frightened of pizza. That is a terrible trade.

And yes, midlife matters.

Perimenopause can affect sleep, appetite, energy, recovery, body composition and how easy it feels to keep up habits that once seemed effortless.

But I’m not going to blame every stalled scale on your hormones. And I’m definitely not going to tell you your metabolism stopped working because you turned 40.

Energy balance still matters. Protein, training, movement, sleep, your behaviour and your environment all still matter. Hormones change the context those things happen in.

My job is to help you understand the difference, so you can stop wondering whether you need another supplement and start knowing what’s worth your attention.

Imagine…

Imagine knowing exactly what to do after a weekend away. You don’t panic, you don’t wait for Monday, and you don’t slash your calories to 1,200 because the scales jumped 3lb overnight. You know what happened, what matters and what to do next.

Imagine going out for dinner without mentally calculating how much you need to compensate for it tomorrow.

Imagine seeing your weight fluctuate and shrugging.

Imagine opening your wardrobe before a holiday and thinking: Yes. That feels like me again.

And getting there without relying on discipline as the whole strategy.

This coaching is for you if…

That last one matters. I want you to get very good at coaching yourself.

Weight loss coaching in the Isle of Man with Angela Clucas

I’m Angela.

I’m a university qualified nutritionist with a BSc in Human Nutrition, an MSc in Sports Nutrition and ten years of helping women make nutrition work in real lives. Lives with work, partners, family, restaurants, holidays, stressful Tuesdays and weekends where the cheese board appears.

More and more, the women I work with already know the basics. What they want is someone who can interpret what they’re already doing.

What you leave with

If fat loss is your goal, we work towards fat loss. I also want you to leave with more than a smaller number on the scale.

Losing 7lb is nice. Knowing how to look after yourself for the next 30 years is considerably more valuable.

A few things you might be wondering

How long do we work together?
3, 6 or 12 months. Longer gives us more time to test and adjust through real life, so women who want the changes to stick usually choose 6 or 12.

What’s included?
A detailed assessment and onboarding call, a weekly check-in, WhatsApp access to me, a monthly 1:1 strategy call and quick 15-minute calls when you need them. You can add a weekly 1:1 call to any plan for £100 a month.

Will I have to track calories?
Maybe. Tracking can be incredibly useful when we need information, but it isn’t automatically the answer and it doesn’t have to be forever. We use the tools that give us useful information without creating unnecessary work.

Is this a menopause programme?
No. I take perimenopause and midlife fully into account, and this is evidence-based nutrition coaching that looks at the whole picture.

Do I have to give up alcohol, meals out or holidays?
No. If something matters to you, it belongs in the strategy. There may be trade-offs, because biology hasn’t yet agreed to let us have absolutely everything at once, which is frankly quite rude. The aim is making deliberate choices so life stops happening to your nutrition.

What if I already know loads about nutrition?
Perfect. You’re probably exactly the sort of client I love working with. We can skip the lecture on protein and get straight into the interesting bit: what is actually happening for you?

What if I only want to lose around 7lb?
Also perfect. You don’t need a dramatic “before”. You don’t need to hate your body. And you don’t need to wait until things get worse. Wanting your clothes to fit differently and wanting to feel more like yourself is enough.

You might be much closer than you think.

Sometimes the difference between “I’m doing everything and nothing is happening” and “Oh. This is working.” is spotting the two things that matter most, and doing them consistently enough to let them work.

If you recognise yourself on this page, apply below. The application isn’t a test. It helps me understand where you are now, what you’ve already tried and what you want to change. If I think I can help, we’ll talk.

And if we work together, we start with the good habits you’ve already built. Then we make them work harder for you.

You’re allowed to want results without making your entire life about getting them.
